This 20-hour Certificate of Attendance Intensive Online Review course will help prepare healthcare interpreters for both certification exams (CCHI and NBCMI) via a simulated environment with instant feedback. Students will have the opportunity to take an initial self-diagnostic (the diagnostic quiz will help identify areas of needed improvement as indicated by a score of 80% or lower), and other online quizzes in the following areas of knowledge: test-taking techniques, interpreting standards, medical terminology, review of 11 main body systems, common illnesses and procedures, interpreter standards by IMIA, NCIHC and CHIA. Throughout the course students will be provided with video presentations and opportunities for guided self-assessment on reviewed modules that will help monitor progress. This course was designed by a multidisciplinary team including healthcare interpreters and a physician. The course is approved by the American Translators Association (ATA) for 3 Continuing Education Points.
CCCI expects all students to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. This includes the handling of copyrighted materials and safeguard of account username and password. Only enrolled students are permitted to access and utilize course content. Please review the Online Student Handbook & Course Catalog for more information. CCCI director reserves the right to dismiss the student immediately from the course, if an offense is deemed appropriate.
Certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of all course requirements (quizzes passing grade 80% or higher) within the allotted time (30 days).
